France faced backlash for alleged rape of 12-year Jewish girl by French boys

France has faced severe backlash after an alleged rape of 12-year-old Jewish girl by three 12 and 13-year-old French boys. The strong criticism came after its officials announced that they charged two teenage boys with first-degree rape of a girl.

They did not charge the third accused boy due to presenting him as a witness before the court against the other two boys in connection with the alleged rape.

French officials also revealed that they imposed charges of violence motivated by religion on accused boys in addition to rape charges. According to them, accused boys committed this act of anti-semitism. This is because the accused French boys described the victim girl as a “dirty jew” while raping her in Courbevoie, a suburb of Paris.

This incident caused widespread outrage across France, especially among the French Jewish community. They took to the streets to protest the rise in racism against Jews.

They claimed this incident shows how anti-semitic France was during the Second World, and it is still suffering from the same plague. Anti-semitism refers to hostile and discriminatory behavior against Jews.

French President Emmanuel described this incident as a hate crime. He admitted that anti-semitism presents a threat to French schools. He also directed the minister of education, Nicole Belloubet to take responsibility for making sure that antisemitism is taught in schools.

Nicole stated the terror knows no bounds. Everything about this crime committed in Courbevoie against a 12-year-old girl is condemnable. This rape crime originated from antisemitism.

The prosecutor of Nanterre conducted an inquiry into this rape incident after receiving a report from the victim girl. He did not reveal the identity of the victim and accused. Three French boys gang-raped a Jewish girl, targeting her because of her religion on June 15, 2024.

The accused boys insulted the girl based on her religion and gave her death threats while raping her. It happened when the victim girl tried to return to her home after meeting with a friend.
