Hunter’s Moon will experience a partial lunar eclipse tonight Oct 29, 2023, as it will be visible to different parts of the world. People will be able to view the lunar eclipse of 2023 in the areas where the Moon is above the horizon when it happens.

The lunar eclipse will occur between 1.06 a.m. and 2.23 a.m. GMT on Oct 29. The maximum eclipse will be at 1.45 a.m. GMT. The disk of the moon will be covered to 12% by Earth’s umbra which is the dark part of the earth’s shadow.

The full moon tonight is known as the Hunter’s Moon which is the full moon after the Harvest Moon. Harvest Moon is either the last full moon of the summer season or the first moon of the autumn season.

People from various parts of the world across Africa, Europe, Asia, and Western Australia will be able to see the lunar eclipse. The eastern edge of South America will get a small sight of the lunar eclipse at moonrise.

You will start seeing the moon slowly pass into Earth’s shadow at about 1.06 a.m. GMT. Slowly, this shadow will start covering more and more of the moon until 1.45 a.m. GMT. Afterward, the eclipse will start moving away until about 2.23 a.m. GMT. People will see a normal full moon again at this time.
