Nikki Haley secured first victory in Republican Presidential Race
Nikki Haley has secured her first victory by defeating former president Donald Trump as the Republican Presidential candidate in Washington D.C. This is her first win over Donald Trump in the 2024 race to be the Republican presidential nominee.
She is the first woman to win a Republican nomination in US history. Nikki Haley won all 19 Republican votes for the presidential candidate nominee in Washington D.C.
This gave her 43 votes in total across the United States. Mr.Trump only got 33.2% of Republican votes from Washington D.C. while Nikki received 62.9% of Republican votes.
It shows a purely symbolic victory as Washington D.C. is a heavily Democratic (party) region with only 23,000 registered Republicans. According to media reports, 2,035 Republicans participated in the election. Hence, Nikki Haley secured the first victory for the 2024 presidential elections.
Olivia Perez-Cubas, the spokesperson for Nikki Haley’s campaign, stated it is not surprising that Republicans are closest to the chaos and dysfunction in Washington and are rejecting Donald Trump and all of his chaos.

However, Nikki’s votes are much less than the total 247 votes of Donald Trump. Overall, Trump has a significant lead over Nikki Haley and will almost certainly contest Joe Biden in the November 2024 presidential elections.
So far in the presidential elections for Republicans or vote season, Donald Trump has won every single seat. There are expectations that Trump will win more votes this week, specifically on Super Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Voters in 15 states and one US territory will nominate their presidential candidate tomorrow.
Super Tuesday is a significant day in American politics during the primary election season. Meanwhile, voters from different states and territories hold primary presidential election nominees. Hence, it allows candidates to win massive votes to gain a significant advantage in the presidential race to become the party’s nominee for president.
