Famous philanthropist Jacob Rothschild died at the age of 87
Famous British Jewish banker and philanthropist Lord Jacob Rothschild died at 87 age. The Rothschild Foundation confirmed the news of his death. However, they did not describe the reason for his death.
The Rothschild Foundation described Lord Jacob as a massive presence in many people’s lives. He was a superbly accomplished financier, a devoted public servant, and a passionate supporter of charitable causes in Israel and Jewish culture.
Moreover, the foundation recalled Jacob Rothschild as a champion of the arts and culture, a keen environmentalist, and a much-loved father, grandfather, and friend.
Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair described Jacod as a wonderful human being, paying tribute to him. He expressed his sympathies to the Rothschild family. He said he would miss his friend dearly.
Furthermore, Tony said Lord Jacob was iconic in Britain’s Jewish community. However, his impact was global in his support for a great cause, including the arts and environment. In addition, his tireless work to advance peace in the Middle East.

Lord Jacob Rothschild was born in Berkshire in 1936. He attended Eton College and then studied history at Christ Church, Oxford. He joined the family bank NM Rothchild and Sons in 1963 but departed in 1980 after a disagreement with his cousin, Sir Evelyn de Rothschild.
Mr. Jacob established his financial empire in the City of London, forming the investment trust RIT (Rothschild Investment Trust) Capital, which he chaired until 2019. According to the Sunday Times Rich List, the Rothschild family’s fortune is believed to be over £825 million.
Lord Jacob also served as deputy chairman of BSkyB Television and director of RHJ International (also known as Kleinwort Benson Group). He served as a Duchy of Cornwall council member for the then-Prince of Wales.
