Delhi court summoned Dhruv Rathee in defamation case by BJP
Delhi court summoned Indian YouTuber Dhruv Rathee in a civil defamation case by BJP spokesperson Suresh Nakhua. Suresh is BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party) Mumbai unit spokesperson.
Suresh filed a defamation lawsuit against Suresh and two other individuals for allegedly calling him a member of “violent and abusive trolls.” His video received 2,41,85,609 views and more than 2.3 million likes. The impression of this video is increasing every minute.
District Judge Gunjan Gupta issued this summon order on July 19, 2024. Suresh claimed in a lawsuit against Dhruv that he posted a video on July 7, 2024. He titled that video “My Reply to Godi Youtubers | Elvish Yadav | Dhruv Rathee.
In the controversial video, Dhruv accused Suresh of being a part of abusive and violent trolls. Suresh alleged Dhruv of doing this act without any reason having the intention of harming his reputation.
Dhruv said Prime Minister Modi hosted abusive and violent trolls including Ankit Jain, Suresh Nakhua, and Tajinder Bagga at his official residence.
Suresh stated in the lawsuit that this was a deliberate campaign to tarnish his integrity and reputation which is evident through this cunningly crafted video.
He also called accusations of Dhruv a baseless and malicious campaign which is artfully claimed. He continued that malicious remarks of Dhruv had seriously impacted his reputation and destroyed his personal and professional life.

Moreover, Suresh claimed Dhruv also often threatens people online and engages in defamation. Then, he uses his audience to harm the reputations of other YouTubers.
So, he has requested a permanent ban preventing Dhruv from generating, spreading, tweeting, publishing, or uploading any harmful content against him or BJP online or offline.
He also demanded INR 20,00,000 damages compensation for his defamation from Dhruv. He also requested the court to stop Dhruv from contacting him or his workers in any way. Following this lawsuit, the Delhi court summoned Dhruv Rathee on August 6, 2024.
