CM Himanta Biswa warns Badruddin Ajmal against magical healing
Assam Chief Minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma warns All Indian United Democratic Front (AIUDF) head Badruddin Ajmal against magical healing.
CM Himanta stated Badruddin would face arrest if he violated the law by engaging in “magical healing” practices. It came after the Assam Assembly passed the Assam Healing (Prevention of Evil) Practiced Bill 2024 which prohibits non-scientific healing techniques in the state.
This Bill intends to raise awareness in society about healthy, science-based information to protect human health from evil and sinister practices that survive on people’s ignorance and ill-health.
The Bill also aims to eliminate non-scientific therapeutic practices that have hidden motives for exploiting innocent people and thus destroying the structure of public health in society.
Meanwhile, AIUDF parliamentarians have pointed out that their party’s head is a spiritual leader. So, people come to him freely for healing. Muslims usually approach Badruddin. They ask him to blow into their water bottles believing this will cause the water to have healing properties.

Hence, CM Himanta Biswa warns Badruddin Ajmal against healing practices. He stated if Badruddin conducts magic healing practices, he will be arrested. What he says will happen. He is not talking about himself, he is talking about the Assembly.
Furthermore, CM said you do not listen to the words of Himanta Biswa Sarma but listen to what the Assam Assembly is saying. The assembly has disallowed the healing practices.
However, the Assam Healing Practiced Bill 2024 offenses are cognizable and non-bailable. The first offense can result in a one-year jail sentence. It may extend to three years and a fine of 5000/- INR or both. The subsequent offense can result in imprisonment for up to five years and a fine of one lakh rupees or both.
