Pakistan vs New Zealand First T-20 Match 2024 highlights
The first task of Shaheen Afridi as team captain did not go well in the first T-20 match of New Zealand vs Pakistan. New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 46 runs in the inaugural match of five T-20 match series 1-0 at Eden Park in Auckland.
New Zealand played the 1st innings of the match and made 226 runs at the cost of eight wickets. However, Pakistan managed only to make 180 runs in 18 overs.
Despite a good start by Saim Ayub, the Green Shirts (Pakistan) failed to chase their target score and did not make it into a win. Saim performed brilliantly and scored 27 runs off only eight balls.
The Green Shirts were 130-4 in 12.4 overs, still in a position, to pursue the score. However, the poor batting performance of Azam Khan increased the troubles for upcoming batsmen.
Fakhar Zaman struggled and made 15 runs at 10 balls. Iftikhar Ahmed made 24 runs in 17 balls, while Azam Khan made 10 runs off nine balls.
Meanwhile, former skipper Babar Azam led the losing side with 57 runs off 35 balls. But his efforts were insufficient in the face of Black Caps (New Zealand) high score bar. Tim Southee took his 150th T20 wicket. However, Adam Milne and Ben Sears took each wicket.
Following the first innings of the T-20 match of New Zealand vs. Pakistan, Daryl Mitchell and Kane Williamson scored 61 and 57 runs respectively. Daryl did a thrilling batting by scoring 61 runs off 27 balls.

Meanwhile, Finn Allen made 35 runs off 15 balls. Mark Chapman scored quickly 26 at 11 balls with two fours and many sixes. Black Caps beat Pakistani bowlers badly, except Abbas Afridi and Haris Rauf.
Abbas made a great start by taking a wicket in the first over. But he couldn’t build on that success and gave up 46 runs while taking three wickets.
However, spinner Usama Mir gave 51 runs in only four overs, while Aamer Jamel gave 56 runs. This way, the poor batting and bowling performance led to the Black Caps’ victory over the Green Shirts.
