Martial arts teenager Ray Williams died at 18 in Malaysia
An 18-year-old martial arts teenager Ray Williams from Bristol, United Kingdon died in Malaysia on July 25, 2024. Ray traveled from the UK to Thailand for his first overseas martial arts training vacation.
He loved martial arts. Unfortunately, he became seriously ill from an infection, staphylococcus skin infection in Thailand. Bacteria Staphylococcus cause this infection.
After receiving medical treatment, Ray fainted while traveling back to Bristol. Hence, relevant authorities sent him to an intensive care unit in Malaysia where he tragically died.
Trojan Free Fighters owner and coach Mario Saeed stated no words can explain the pain he felt right now. Trojan Free Fighters is a martial arts school based in Bristol.
Coach Mario revealed when they came to know about the death of Ray, there was not one person who was not crying. Ray was amazing and overjoyed.
After martial arts teenager Ray Williams died, Trojan Gym and the Bristol martial arts community raised more than ยฃ13,300ย to cover the cost of Ray’s family’s ticket to Malaysia.
Mario also stated Ray would always be with them at Trojan. Ray is the Trojan. There were over a hundred individuals present: their community is quite strong.
According to Mario, it is a common misconception that their gym is just another gym. They bleed, sweat, and cry together as they are connected.

However, the deceased teenager Ray had just started mixed martial arts. He used to get training six times a week in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and four times a week in Muay Thai when he left for overseas.
Mark McLelland is another coach of Ray Williams. He had been working with him since the beginning of his teaching career four years ago.
Mark stated everyone liked Ray very much. He had a good work ethic. It was a pleasure to work with and instruct him. It is a difficult emotional situation to handle.
