It was an innings filled with incredible calmness and determination as KL Rahul hit his 8th Test hundred during the match. The second three-figure score in Tests at the Centurion made him the first overseas cricketer to do so.

However, this is Rahul’s first Test match as both wicketkeeper and batter. Rahul entered the playground with India at 92/4 following a significant wicket loss of Shreyas Iyer having a 68-run stand.
Afterward, Virat Kohli soon left at the arrival of Rahul. He remained the only designated batter in the lineup. Rahul put his faith in the game and formed crucial partnerships with tailenders on a track to play a successful inning.
Rahul scored 43 runs in a partnership with Shardul Thakur until the loss of the seventh wicket by Rabada. Despite wickets loss, Rahul continued to score 70 runs off 105 balls. It led India to cross the 200-run barrier.
The Indian batsman might not have reached even 150 scores in the first innings without the brilliantly-played innings of Rahul. KL Rahul made his first international debut against Australia in 2014 in a Boxing Test Match in Melbourne.
