West Indies wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva is about to lead the Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) National Cricket Team as captain in the West Indies Championship. Joshua has replaced Darren Bravo as West Indies Captain.
Darren has been serving as team captain since 2018. Joshua Da Silva is not the first time to lead as captain for the Trinidad and Tobago Team. He has also led the West Indies “A team” on a visit to South Africa last year.
Although, he will have to step up as a frontline batter in the absence of Darren. Because Darren was the leading batsman of the Red Forces (Trinidad and Tobago) in last year’s match.
Meanwhile, Bryan Charles has been selected as vice-captain of the squad. It includes pacers Jayden Seales and Terence Hinds, as well as experienced bowlers Imran Khan and Jason Muhammad.
Red Forces will begin their series against the Guyana Harpy Eagles at Conaree Cricket Ground in St Kitts on Feb 7-10. Following this, they will face the West Indies Academy on Feb 14-17.
Red Forces will finish the St Kitss tournament of the West Indies championship against Leeward Islands Hurricanes at Warner Park. They will also play the Windward Islands Volcanoes at the Oval from March 13 to 16. They will play against the Barbados Pride later that month.
The Red Force will fly to Jamaica to face the List A cricket team from April 10-13 at Chedwin Park before finishing their match against the host team, Jamaica Scorpions, from April 17-20 at Sabina Park.
