Meta-owned Instagram’s new feature turns user photos into stickers for reels and stories on Instagram. In the meantime, Instagram has tested a new “sticker creation” feature which will allow users to turn their photos into custom stickers to use in reels or stories.

Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri gave a brief demonstration of how the new Instagram feature will work in a video shared to his broadcast channel.

Adam told users would also be able to create stickers from pictures saved on their cellphones as well as stickers from eligible images they see on Instagram. He further didn’t share any details about a new feature. However, it suggests users will be able to opt into converting their pictures into stickers.

Adam said they are testing a way for users to turn photos into custom stickers to use in reels and stories. Users can create stickers from their own photos in their camera roll, or from eligible images they see on Instagram.

The new Instagram feature is still just a test and has not given access to all users. The app started testing a new polling feature last week which will appear in the comment section under feed posts.

Meta is introducing new exciting AI-generated stickers lately in the social media world. This tool is simple. It will just select the subject of the image and remove the background. It will create a free-floating sticker that can be placed over other content.
