The police allegedly raided the house of Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Chairman and PTI nominee presidential candidate, Mahmood Khan Achakzai. PkMAP spokesperson claimed it while conducting a press conference in Quetta.

PkMAP Central Secretary General Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal conducted a press conference at the party’s Central Secretariat in Quetta. Abdul Rahim stated a large police force raided the house of Jan Achakzai without explanation. They also arrested the guard of Jan Achakzai.

According to Abdul Rahim, police illegally searched the house without any search warrant. Abdul claimed the raid occurrence came after Achakzai exposed rigging in recent elections and the people responsible during a National Assembly session on March 2, 2024.

Abdul condemned the raid and scheduled a demonstration against it today. He also expressed concern that such activities could intimidate the PkMAP and its leadership.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also condemned the alleged raid at Mahmood Achakzai’s house on the floor of the National Assembly. He stated efforts are being made to make the presidential elections controversial.

Bilawal emphasized that the Prime Minister should take notice of this. He also said he did not know if something like this happened and condemned it. It is significant to note that the police raided the house of Mahmood Khan Achakzai after former Prime Minister Imran Khan nominated him as the presidential candidate against Asif Ali Zardari.

Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Senator Maulana Hafiz Hamdullah condemned the raid on Achakzai’s house in Quetta. He said Mahmood Khan Achakzai is a senior politician in Pakistan. This cruel action by the administration is intolerable.

However, former Interim information minister Jan Achakzai denied the raid allegations at a separate press briefing. He claimed the police intervened to prevent the land occupation in front of Achakzai’s residence. He further stated that Achakzai’s guard was arrested for interfering with the police action.
