According to police officials, Amir Sarfraz Tamba suffered critical injuries in an attack on April 14, 2024. Although Lahore SSP Operations Syed Ali Raza told media the victim died reportedly in the attack. He was still alive but had suffered serious injuries and ultimately died.

Amir was at his home in the Islampura neighborhood of Lahore. When two masked, armed men broke into his Ganga Street home and opened fire.

They left the victim in a pool of blood and ran away. Tamba’s younger brother, Junaid Sarfraz stated that they took Amir to a nearby hospital where he received treatment.

Junaid told authorities that he and his family lived in the lower portion of the house. However, his brother Amir lived on the upper floor.

Two armed guys broke into his home around 12:40 p.m. They made their way to the upper portion and fired multiple shots at Amir. Afterward, they made their getaway while riding a Honda 125cc motorcycle. Junaid said gunmen shot his brother three times, twice in the chest.

Government officials have concerns about this incident of Amir being shot dead who is alleged Indian spy Sarabjit Singh’s killer because of India’s purported participation.

The attack happened a few days after the UK’s Guardian revealed the Indian government had been killing people in Pakistan as part of a larger plan to get rid of “terrorists” who were residing abroad.

Dr. Usman Anwar is the Inspector General of Punjab. He said any remarks regarding foreign participation in the attack would be too early at this time.

Authorities have initiated a high-profile investigation to determine the reason for the attack. It also covers the potential of an external government’s involvement. Islampura police have opened a murder case against unidentified armed individuals on the complaint of the victim’s brother Junaid.
