Former Prime Minister Imran Khan announced his intention to go on hunger strike due to his lack of confidence in Chief Justice (CJ) Qazi Faez Isa. It is significant to note that Imran Khan is serving a jail term in Adiala Jail.

He revealed these intentions during an interaction with media persons at Adiala Jail. He expressed severe concerns regarding the alleged biased involvement of CJ Qazi Faez Isa while handling hearing benches involving his personal and his party PTI’s cases.

Imran emphasized the concerns expressed by his legal team about the continuous presence of CJ Qazi in PTI cases. He mentioned a growing sentiment in his political party that CJ might not be served justice fairly in these circumstances.

He also cited a recent ruling by Justice Gulzar’s five-judge panel. This jurist panel urged that CJ Qazi Faez Isa should not hear matters or cases involving PTI.

Hence, Imran Khan announced a plan to go on a hunger strike following the alleged biasedness of CJ Qazi Faez Isa and his judicial victimization against him and the PTI. He stated he would announce the date of the hunger strike after consulting with his lawyers.

On the other hand, Imran expressed his support for the government’s approved Operation Azm-e-Istehkam. He claimed his party would participate in the All Parties Conference (APC) on this operation. He considers this operation in the best interest of Pakistan.
