Barrister Gohar Khan elected PTI chairman in Intra-party elections
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has been elected PTI chairman unopposed replacing political giant Imran Khan in today’s Intra-party elections. In addition, Omar Ayub Khan, a former minister, was chosen to serve as the party’s central secretary general.
As the party held its intra-party elections on Saturday morning following the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) orders, PTI Election Commissioner Niazullah Niazi revealed these names. Additionally, he declared that there were no opposition votes for any of the panels or candidates.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Presiding Officer of the party, Ali Zaman, managed the establishment of the central polling station in the Rano Garhi neighborhood of Peshawar.
The founding member of PTI Akbar S. Babar has announced to challenge the internal party polls. He said he would submit an application to the Election Commission Owing to the irregularities noted in the PTI internal elections. He raised objections during ongoing Intra-party elections.

According to Niazullah, Akbar’s objections to the chairman’s nominee were dismissed. As custodians of the Constitution, they would not act in a way that undermined democracy.
He went on to say that Akbar was neither a candidate nor a party member. Furthermore, Akbar did not contact him to submit his nomination papers.
In addition, the PTI has announced Dr. Yasmin Rashid, a former minister from Punjab, and Haleem Adil Sheikh as the provincial president of Sindh. Ali Amin Gandapur was elected as president of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Munir Ahmed is the president of the PTI Balochistan per recent Intra-party elections.
