Apni Chat Apna Ghar housing project launched in Punjab

The Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the Apni Chat Apna Ghar housing project to build houses for low-income people. The Punjab government has taken the initiative to build 100,000 houses.

CM Maryam Nawaz presided over a meeting to discuss the project and request a clear strategy for implementation. The goal is to construct more than 3,000 houses for low-income people in each district of Punjab.

During the discussion, Maryam highlighted the need for efficiency and affordability in housing projects in Punjab. She directed the construction of a model home within six weeks and instructed initial payments and monthly installments to be kept to a minimum.

Eligibility Criteria for Apni Chat Apna Ghar housing project

There are some points to consider to apply for your house under the Apni Chat Apna Ghar housing project. You will not be eligible for this program if you do not fulfill these requirements:

  • Applicants must have a valid National Identity Card with them.
  • You must be a resident of Punjab.
  • The candidate should have a monthly household income of PKR 50,000 or less.
  • The applicant’s age must be under 55 years.
  • The person who never received the desired plot from the Punjab government.

Maryam also emphasized the commitment of the government to provide shelter for the underprivileged. She stated providing a roof for the poor is their promise and they will fulfill it.

She stressed quality and durability as critical considerations in house construction. Moreover, she urged authorities to construct houses close to the city limits so people could easily get to work.

This project is specifically developed for those who don’t have the basic right to own their home owing to a lack of resources. However, the application procedure details will be updated once the government provides them.
