FIA confirms investigation against President Mohammed Sulayem

FIA (International Federation of Automobiles) confirms the investigation against President Mohammed Ben Sulayem. The World Motor Racing Governing Organization has revealed that complaints have been filed against its senior leadership.

Hence, the FIA has initiated an investigation in response to allegations made by an anonymous source. The FIA issues a statement and confirms the investigation against President Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

Ben Sulayem has allegations of interfering at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix last year. He reportedly stepped in to invalidate the penalty given to Fernando Alonso at the 2023 racing event.

However, Ben Sulayem has allegations of instructing officials not to approve the Las Vegas track for the race competition in November 2023. However, his motive for these allegations is unclear.

According to FIA, the Compliance Department is reviewing these allegations as is usual in these cases to ensure strict following of due process.

In a second statement to the Associated Press, an FIA spokesperson said it was a great concern that an anonymous source spoke to the media without permission from the governing body.

However, there are speculations that the anonymous source is a former FIA employee, who is now working in Formula One management. FIA is the governing body of many auto racing events including Formula One.

The allegations against Ben Sulayem appear to be a power struggle between the governing body and Formula One. However, the controversial allegations came ahead of the 2024 Formula One season.

The inaugural race of this season took place in Bahrain at Sakhir on March 2, 2024. The second race of the F1 season will happen in Saudi Arabia at Jeddah Corniche on March 9, 2024.

Meanwhile, the racing body Red Bull investigated team principal Christian Horner last weekend. Christian had accusations of misbehavior with a team employee.
