Ali Amin Gandapur arrest warrant issued by AJK Election Commission

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Election Commission has issued an arrest warrant for PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur. AJK Election Commission issued an arrest warrant for Ali Amin Gandapur for allegedly violating the code of conduct in the 2021 elections.

The electoral authority has sent a letter to the Dera Ismail Khan deputy commissioner about the arrest of Ali Amin. It came when former prime minister Imran Khan nominated Ali Amin for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister position.

The letter directs Ali to appear before the AJK Election Commission on Feb 28, 2024. The lawsuit against Ali Amin dates back to the 2021 elections when Lawyer Raja Zulqarnain filed the petition against him.

Furthermore, the AJK Election Commission prohibited the outspoken Ali Amin from attending and addressing election-related rallies in AJK. The Electoral Commission took this measure when Ali Amin made nasty remarks in speeches at various public meetings in AJK.

According to the AJK Election Commission, they made this decision because the actions of Ali Amin not only caused law and order issues but also raised concerns about the loss of human life.
