US Rep. Elise Stefanik filed an ethics complaint against Jack Smith

US Rep. Elise Stefanik filed an ethics complaint against counsel Jack Smith accusing him of interfering in the 2024 presidential elections. Elise is a US representative for New York’s 21st congressional district and belongs to the Republican party.

Elise may also serve as running mate for the presidential candidate campaign on behalf of Donald Trump for the upcoming elections in 2024. However, lawyer Jack Smith is an American attorney who served in the United States Department of Justice.

Counsel Jack Smith is recently in charge of federal investigations against former president Donald Trump. The complaint of Elise comes after legal proceedings of Jack Smith against Donald Trump.

US Rep. Elise Stefanik filed an ethics complaint against Jack to the Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility. She alleged Jack was trying to rush a federal fraud case against Trump.

Elise stated it is clear to any sane observer that Jack Smith is trying to interfere in the 2024 election. He is also preventing the American people from electing Donald Trump. He has made every effort to speed up his unlawful prosecution of Trump to convict him before the election in November.

She also mentioned the clause in the Justice Department’s handbook. It states a lawyer may never select the timing of any action to affect any election. So, the Justice Department (DOJ) must penalize the evidence of Jack for breaking this rule.

Moreover, Elise said that Jack’s actions have damaged the reputation of the DOJ and the federal government. Hence, the Office of Professional Responsibility must administer the appropriate discipline for this behavior and conduct an ethical investigation against Jack.

Elise also referred to Supreme Court petitions of Jack where he stated no one is above the law. She said if he considers it true he must be open to facing an ethics investigation of himself. He is violating DOJ policy and multiple rules of professional conduct.

Hence, his blatant violation of District Court orders gives evidence of his political attempt to influence the results of the 2024 elections. She also attributed him as the special counsel of Biden, the main political rival of Trump.

It all came when Jack Smith started an investigation against Trump on November 18, 2022, for his involvement in the US capitol riot on Jan 6 and his alleged tampering with government records, including secret records.

However, he rushed investigations with a team of at least 20 DOJ prosecutors. He also called witnesses to testify before a grand jury and sent summons to election officials in several states. Moreover, he urged judges to convict Trump for not appearing in court hearings.

Hence, many people including Elise have raised concerns about his speedy efforts against Trump just some months before the elections.
