Nigerian politician Ifeanyi Ubah died at 52 in the United Kingdom
Senior Nigerian politician and senator Ifeanyi Ubah from Anambra South died at 52 in London, United Kingdom. He was CEO of downstream oil marketer Capital Oil for years.
According to media reports, Ifeanyi passed away today just before his 53rd birthday on September 3, 2024. Yemi Adaramodu, the spokesperson for the Senate, informed Nigerian media reporters about the death of Ifeanyi Ubah.
Another Nigerian Senator Ben Murray-Bruce expressed condolences on the death of Ifeanyi Ubah. He sent his heartfelt sympathy to the Ifeanyi family and his loved ones.
Ben recalled the deceased’s contributions to Nigerian people in the oil sector and public service. He said people will never forget his services. He also prayed for eternal peace and patience for his family during this difficult time.
A media personality Chuma Nnoli expressed sadness at the demise of Ifeanyi. He prayed Ifeanyi’s family might find peace in this tragic moment.
Ifeanyi was re-elected to the tenth Senate under the banner of the Young People’s Party after leaving the All Progressive Party last year.
Family members, including his wife, began mourning after she learned about the death of his spouse in a hotel in London. Nigerian politician Ifeanyi Ubah died after collapsing from cardiac arrest.
Authorities rushed him to the hospital from a hotel following his complicated health condition. However, medical professionals could not revive his heart to allow normal blood supply to his brain and other body organs. Unfortunately, they failed.
Senator Ifeanyi Ubah also survived an assassination attempt in September 2022 after armed men attacked him when he was traveling to Nnewi in Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State.
After gunmen fired shots at a convoy of Ifeanyi, at least five people including two police officers died in an assassination attempt on him. He survived this attempt as the car he was riding in was bulletproof.
