Multiple explosions in Iran as Israel launched drones towards it
Iranian media reported multiple explosions in the central city of Iran, Isfahan after Israel launched three drones. Earlier, the United States media also reported Israel had launched a missile attack on a target in Iran.
Three drones were spotted in the sky over Isfahan at about 12:30 a.m. GMT. Afterward, Iran activated its air defense system and destroyed drones.
A spokesperson for Iran’s space agency, Hossein Dalirian, reported they have successfully shot down several drones. He also said there were no reports of a missile attack, at this time. Israel has only made a failed and humiliating attempt to fly quadcopters (drone-type).
The targeted place of Israeli airstrikes was Isfahan which is the location of several military sites in Iran. Iranian media also reported state officials suspended aircraft in several locations, including Tehran and Isfahan.
However, Iran reopened airspace about four and a half hours after the Israeli airstrikes. There is not any report of casualty.
It all came after a suspected Israeli attack on Iran’s embassy compound in Damascus last Saturday, April 14, 2024. It resulted in the deaths of two senior army generals of Iran including IRGC commander Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi.
Afterward, Iran launched a violent series of drone and missile attacks on Israel. It led Israel to launch today’s drone strike which triggered multiple explosions in Iran.

Isfahan is considered a strategically significant city and home to several significant locations, such as bases and centers for military R&D. Iran has also one of its nuclear enrichment complexes near the city of Natanz in Isfahan province.
Iran’s Tasnim news agency claimed; citing reliable sources that nuclear facilities in Isfahan are completely secure. There are also reports of explosions in Syria and Iraq.
Syrian activist group Rayan Maarouf who runs Suwayda 24, reported Israel launched air strikes on army radar position. Meanwhile, the United States and European nations not to retaliate on Iran’s attack from last week.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres presented a terrible picture of the Middle East scenario. He stated Iran’s attack on Israel and rising tensions over the Gaza war could lead to a full-scale regional conflict.
