The major outage of an Australian telecommunications company Singtel Optus Pty Limited hit millions of mobile and NBN services across Australia. The National Broadband Network (NBN) provides Australians with high-speed internet access.

Optus is dealing with its failure to deliver mobile and internet services at a larger scale. It announced on its official X that the company is aware of a problem affecting Optus mobile and NBN services. They are working to restore them as soon as possible. They recognize the importance of connectivity and apologize for any disruption.

Emergency calls to Triple Zero made from Optus mobiles will not affected by the current Optus outage. But landlines will be as millions of Australians throughout the country remain without mobile data and network connectivity.

Even people who are not Optus customers are affected, as institutions such as banks, hospitals, and others have issues.

Optus claims they are working on restoring the services. Some fixed and mobile services are slowly being restored. It may take several hours for all services to recover. Various services may be restored at different locations during that time.
