Kenyan Assistant Chief arrested for raping 4-year-old girl

A Kenyan Assistant Chief, Douglas Koech Kipkemoi, has been arrested for raping a 4-year-old girl. Douglas is a 42-year-old Assistant Chief for the Kabianga Sub-location in Kericho County.

Douglas is facing charges of sexually abusing a minor girl. According to law enforcement officials, he committed this horrific act close to his residence on July 10, 2024.

A police report stated that the victim girl complained of pain and discomfort in her genital area while taking a shower on July 11, 2024. Afterward, her mother asked her more questions about her pain.

Then, the young girl informed her Assistant chief had raper her the day before. She subsequently revealed that Douglas raped her near his residential home.

People became extremely upset and furious while receiving this news. Some of them appeared to attack suspect Douglas. Hence, Kenyan Assistant Chief Douglas Koech Kipkemoi surrendered to authorities who arrested him. This is because the suspect was afraid for his safety.

The police report also stated that they brought the victim and suspect to Londiani Sub-County Hospital for medical evaluation. It will help them to take appropriate action against the culprit.

As the investigation progresses, there are demands for a comprehensive inquiry and suitable legal actions to hold the accused suspect responsible for misuse of authority and betrayal of public confidence.

A local activist called this incident horrific and unacceptable, which they cannot tolerate at any cost. They must ensure the victim gets the necessary help and attention.

An activist also urged immediate justice for a minor girl. However, suspect Douglas is scheduled to be presented at the Molo Law Courts in the upcoming days.

In a separate incident, Assistant Chief of Amabuko Sub-Location in Kisii County, Simon Osano allegedly undressed a school girl in public and beat her.

The victim girl committed suicide after leaving a note expressing embarrassment for the illegal and inhumane treatment of Simon with her. However, Simon has denied these allegations.
