FIA arrested Karachi college lecturer for harassing female officer
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a college lecturer based in Karachi for harassing a female education officer. Tufail Abbasi is an accused lecturer who allegedly used social media to harass and blackmail a female officer of the education department.
The arrest of Tufail came after the FIA Cyber Crime Wing responded to the officer’s allegations by taking the necessary action. The accuser female officer revealed to FIA that Tufail was harassing her using offensive images of her on social media for several months.
FIA officials informed media reporters that they also found offensive and objectionable footage of the victim officer on the cell phone of Tufail. However, they have recovered all offensive contact of the victim from his phone.
Following this, they have filed a case and opened an investigation against Tufail Abbasi. FIA arrested a Karachi college lecturer from the Balida Town area of Karachi.
However, the agency did not reveal the name of his affiliated educational institute. The victim’s identity has also been kept hidden due to the sensitivity of the matter and respect for her privacy.

In a separate incident, Assistant Professor of KU, Dr. Farhan Kamrani also harassed a female lecturer on social media. Dr. Farhan is an assistant professor of Psychology at KU (Karachi University).
The Cyber Crime Wing of FIA arrested him following a complaint from the victim lecturer. She stated in her complaint that Dr. Kamran posted her immoral pictures on social media.
According to the victim, the suspect also created fake Facebook IDs under her name. He also tampered with the pictures of a victim to make it offensive.
However, FIA took down the fake Facebook IDs using the name of the victim lecturer. They held Kamran in custody and sent a copy of the FIR to the KU registrar. Following this, the KU Vice-Chancellor suspended Kamran.
