Two people have died and ten are seriously injured as Eldoret Express Bus hit a fuel tanker in the Muguga area in Kikuyu, Kiambu County. Kikuyu Police Commander Ronald Kirui confirmed this accident in the morning.

Ronald stated a fuel tanker that had stopped on the road was hit by a 62-seater bus owned by Eldoret Express Company around 5:30 a.m. in Kikuyu. The bus driver lost control and struck the truck from behind. The bus was traveling from Nakuru to Nairobi.

Commander Ronald told media reporters that they were investigating the incident. They have transported injured people to different hospitals in the Kikuyu region. He also cited the possibility of low visibility as one of the causes when the accident happened.

Furthermore, he advised drivers to take precautions due to the wet rainy season. He said they had transported injured people to Kikuyu Hospital while dead bodies were to the mortuary at Thogoto Hospital.

However, they brought vehicle wreckage to the Kikuyu Police Station. Commander Ronald also said traffic police initiated inquiries to determine the factual reason for the deadliest accident. They are unable to determine what caused the accident at the moment.

The accident resulted in a severe traffic jam. Drivers going toward Nairobi had to forcibly take alternative routes through residential areas of Muguga and rejoin the highway at Kinoo.
