Katie Price arrested after missing court appearance in bankruptcy case

UK police arrested British model Katie Price at the airport after she failed to appear in court in a bankruptcy case. They took her into custody after she returned from Turkey.

Now, they will present her at the Royal Courts of Justice today where her appearance is due. She is currently in jail at a police station in West London.

Her arrest came after Judge Catherine Burton of the Insolvency and Companies Court noticed she missed the hearing. Moreover, Katie did not give a reason for her absence.

She stated the court must issue a warrant for Ms. Katie Price’s arrest in her opinion. She had no valid reason for missing the hearing today. Irrelevant is the reason behind her absence.

Following this, she issued an arrest warrant for her as she did not show up for a hearing on her bankruptcies. She also emphasized that arrest warrants are not issued on lighted note.

Judge Catherine also noted that Katie had not only cooperated slowly with authorities. She also failed to supply the “most basic information: regarding her bankruptcies.

It is significant to note that Katie Price was declared bankrupt twice in 2019 once in November. Afterward, she became bankrupt in March 2019. Regarding her first bankruptcy, she had to pay a trustee for the next three years 40% of her monthly income from the adult entertainment website OnlyFans.

The court passed this order in February 2024. Then, she received an official announcement of being bankrupt a second time due to a huge tax debt of over £750,000 in March 2024.

Judge Catherine gave her a clear warning to appear in court on July 30 or risk an arrest warrant. Barristers had to inquire about Katie regarding her finances in a specialist bankruptcy court in London.

However, Katie did not follow up on any court order and went to Turkey and hence her arrest was by Metropolitan police. A police spokesperson stated they arrested Katie Price at 7:45 p.m. at Heathrow Airport on August 8, 2024.
