Fighter film banned in Gulf Countries except UAE ahead of release

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s film “Fighter” has been banned in Gulf countries except UAE before its release. Girish Johar, a trade analyst and producer, made this announcement.

Girish took to Twitter X and wrote, Fighter film has been banned for theatrical release in the Middle East (Gulf countries). However, only the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will release the film with a PG15 rating.

It is terrible news for Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone fans in the Gulf countries who were looking forward to the premiere of their film Fighter.

However, the cause for the ban has not been revealed. Although it will not be shown in other Gulf countries, it will receive a theatrical release in the UAE.

A source close to the Fighter team confirmed this news regarding its ban in Gulf countries other than the UAE. However, the filmmakers have yet to pass a formal statement on this matter.

About Fighter (2024)

The Fighter is an action-thriller story that is the first-ever Bollywood aerial movie. It focuses on the realistic event of the Balakot airstrike in Pakistan in 2019.

They portrayed that the Indian Air Force carried out the operation against the terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in response to a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack killed forty of the group members of JeM.

Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor play the leading roles. Hrithik portrays the character of Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania, while Deepika is Squadron Leader Minal Rathore.

However, Anil portrays the role of Group Captain Rakesh Jai. Besides the leading roles, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi play the supporting roles.

Siddharth Anand has directed this film. He is also the director of the Blockbuster “Pathan.” Viacom 18 Studios will produce the film in cooperation with Marflix Pictures.

While Fighter has not received censorship approval in Gulf countries, the aerial action thriller will be released on Jan 25, 2024.
