Imran Khan nominated Ali Amin Gandapur as KP Chief Minister
The PTI founder Imran Khan has nominated Ali Amin Gandapur for Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Imran Khan made this announcement during an informal media talk during his jail trial in Adiala.
Imran Khan stated he nominated Ali Amin Gandapur as KP Chief Minister, but there is no consensus on the prime ministership name yet.
He also emphasized that there would be no negotiation with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Also, PTI will not form any alliance with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) regarding the formation of government at the Federal.
Ali Amin Gandapur won seat NA-44 for the National Assembly from Dera Ismail Khan. He received 93,443 votes in the 2024 general elections. He defeated Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chairman of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F).
The political career of Ali Amin began in 2013 when he was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party. Ali Amin was the provincial revenue minister in the first Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Later on, he successfully ran in the 2018 Pakistani general election. He won a seat in the National Assembly of Pakistan from Constituency NA-38 (Dera Ismail Khan-I). He also served as minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan in the cabinet of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Ali Amin is from a politically active Pashtun family in Dera Ismail Khan. Major (retd) Aminullah Gandapur is his father, who has also served in politics. His brother, Sardar Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur, is also active in politics and serves for PTI.
Ali received his early education at Saint Helen’s High School in Dera Ismail Khan. He did matriculation at Police Model School, Peshawar. Later, he earned his BA honors from Gomal University in Dera Ismail Khan.
