This statement of Gohar comes as the party has seen important figures leave in the aftermath of the May 9 riots. Many members moved to other parties, formed separate groups, or left politics altogether.
It all started with the arrest of Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust case on May 9. Afterward, subsequent violent protests in which impolite supporters and workers stormed and torched state installations across the country.
Following the violent protest, state authorities came into action and filed cases against several PTI leaders. Many went into custody following the charges of inciting terrorism, arson, and public disorder. It triggered an extensive departure of leaders from PTI.
