Stourbridge Man jailed for historic 57 child sexual abuse crimes
Worcester court has jailed a man named Gary Bennett from Stourbridge town of England for committing 57 horrible child sexual abuse crimes. He sexually abused children over nine years between 1995 and 2004.
Gary sexually exploited a total of seven young boys and one girl. He is the 61-year-old man whom the court has charged with rape, attempted rape, anal sexual intercourse, and being sexually inappropriate with a child.
However, he used to commit sexual abuse of children in different areas, including Stourbridge, Bridgnorth, Kidderminster, and Leominster. West Mercia Police said the sexual abuse was reported for the first time against Gray in May 2018.
Inspector Julie Taylor said the case had been going on for a long time and was very complicated. She said the abuse Gary put children through is sickening. So, it will affect them for the rest of their lives.
Julie also appreciated the great courage of the victim’s children to proceed with the case against Gary and bring justice to themselves. She said she must appreciate victims for how they acted throughout the case. They remained patient, dignified, and committed despite many delays in court proceedings.
Worcester Crown Court convicted Stourbridge Man on 57 charges of sexual abuse and jailed him for 28 years imprisonment. The court also ordered officials to put his name on the sex offender’s register during the hearing.
In a separate incident, a man named Sydney Showell received a jail sentence of 23 years for sexually abusing children last year. Sydney became famous as an evil rapist. He hailed from Burton-on-Trent town of England.
He is now a 71-year-old who used to rape and sexually abuse children years ago. Staffordshire Police ultimately charged him with child sexual abuse offenses in March 2023.
Following his charges, Stafford Crown Court sentenced him to 23 years and 5 months jail sentence on May 7, 2024. Hence, the court found him guilty of eleven charges of child sexual abuse.
