Rohit Sharma became 1st Indian batter to hit 500 sixes in T20 Cricket
Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma became 1st Indian batter to hit 500 sixes in T20 cricket with his outstanding performance in IPL 2024. He achieved this remarkable milestone during the high-stakes match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
This match happened at Wankhede Stadium, an international cricket stadium in Mumbai, India. The graceful strokes of Rohit helped his MI team to chase 207 runs.
He stayed unbeaten scoring 105 runs from 63 balls with 11 fours and five sixes. However, he could not finish the line due to the poor performance of other batters. Hence, CSK won by 20 runs as MI scored 186 runs for 6 wickets.
Even though Rohit’s team lost, he set a mark that no other Indian cricketer has ever done successfully. He is the only Indian cricketer to score 500 sixes in T20 cricket.
It is significant to note that Rohit had 497 runs before the match began. The turning point came when Rohit Sharma hit for six at the ball of Ravindra Jadeja in the 11th over of MI’s chase and became 1st Indian batter to achieve this milestone.
Apart from Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, and Chris Gayle are among those cricketers who hit the most sixes in the shortest time.

Rohit Sharma has represented the Indian Cricket Team since 2007 being a distinctive player. He has made wonderful 48 centuries in international cricket.
His centuries include 31 centuries in One Day Internationals (ODIs), 12 in Tests, and 5 in Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) as of March 2024.
Apart from centuries, he has also made giant scores including 4137 runs in 59 Test matches, 10709 runs in 262 ODIs, and 3974 runs in 151 T20Is.
