Pak vs USA 2024 Match Highlights

The US defeated Pakistan by 5 runs during an exciting Super Over in their second T20 World Cup 2024 match. Before Super Over, the US won the toss and decided to bowl.

As a result, Pakistan made 159 runs for 7 wickets while the US made 159 scores at 3 wickets. It led both teams to Super Over to decide the ultimate winner of this match.

Super Over is an extra overplay when competitive teams reach a tie. It is played to break a tie. Pakistani fast bowler Muhammad Amir took one wicket while the USA scored 18 runs. However, Green Shirts (Pakistan) could only make 13 runs and lost to the USA by five runs.

The US batted cautiously throughout the game. Captain Monank Patel, scored 50 runs before giving the wicket to Amir. Amir gave an incredible over when the US needed 21 runs on 12 balls, giving up only 6 runs. It left the USA with 15 runs to make in the last over.

Aaran Jones made 36 runs until Naseem Shah took his wicket, while Haris Rauf ousted Andries Gous from the cricket field at 25 runs.

However, from the Pakistani squad, Captain Babar Azam, Shahdab Khan, and Shaheen Afridi helped the team secure 159 runs by making 44, 40, and 23, respectively. Nostush Kenjige took Babar’s wicket while Saurabh Netravalkar sent Shahdab to the pavilion. However, Ali Khan took Shaheen’s wicket.

In Super Over, USA batted first and made 18 runs with the contribution of 11 scores of Aaron Jones until Amir took his wicket. However, Pakistan could only reach 13 runs with scores of Iftikhar and Shahdaab when Saurabh Netravalkar stopped them from completing the target of 19 runs by taking a wicket.

On the other hand, Monank Patel became a man of the match in the Pak vs USA Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024. He expressed immense pleasure at their second consecutive win in this tournament.
