Mohammad Amir’s visa refusal for Ireland upsets PCB
Pakistan Cricket team bowler Mohammad Amir’s visa refusal for the Ireland vs Pakistan T20 series upsets PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board). Hence, PCB is going above and beyond to acquire a visa for Amir.
PCB requested Cricket Ireland to allow a visa for Amir. It emphasized to Cricket Ireland that preventing access to any member of the Pakistani team would complicate matters for future bilateral trips.
The PCB is also considering sending Amir straight to Leeds for the first match of the upcoming T20- series against England instead of Ireland. The Pakistan vs Ireland series will start on May 10 and end on May 14.
According to media sources, the PCB has taken Amir’s visa situation seriously with Cricket Ireland. It has made the Board realize that completion of all travel arrangements on time is the sole responsibility of the host board.
PCB reportedly stated that Mohammad Amir’s visa refusal for Ireland could have a significant impact on future cricketing relations. Visa and any essential arrangements are the exclusive responsibility of the host board (Ireland).
According to PCB, when Amir accepted a reward for spot-fixing in London in 2010. It caused him to go through a rough period and ended in a ban from International Cricket. Neither his successfully banned period nor his criminal past are factors in this visa refusal.
Moreover, PCB stated Amir participated in the 2018 first Test match between Ireland and Pakistan on Irish land. So, the visa delay is something not understandable to them.

They will wait a few days, and then Amir will be flown straight to Leeds for the opening T-20 match against England on May 22. If Cricket Ireland fails to secure a visa for Amir.
However, it is significant to note the exact reason behind the visa suspension of Amir by Cricket Ireland is unclear. Some media sources relate it to visa complications, including unresolved formal requirements.
On the other hand, some sources relate it to the tainted past of Mohammad Amir for his involvement in the 2010 spot-fixing despite his repentance, compensation, and apology.
