Jordan beat Pakistan 3-0 in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifier. Jordan’s football team arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday night to compete for the first time in 18 years. Their latest visit to Pakistan was in 2006.
Jordanian player Mousa Tamari scored twice to end Pakistan’s chances of winning the match. Mousa scored in the second and 86th minutes of the match. Meanwhile, Jordanian player Ali Iyad Ali Olwan scored a controversial penalty, making it 3-0 over Pakistan.
Pakistani footballer Muhammad Essa said at the post-match ceremony that it was unfortunate since they gifted them easy goals early on. They lost 3-0. But they can be proud of themselves for not lying down and letting them walk all over us.
Furthermore, Essa said they gave them (Jordan) a fight. They have made gradual progress, but they must also correct these errors. The team needed to “work hard on everything,” including finishing, defending, and coordinating as a unit.

Last October, the Pakistan men’s football team defeated Cambodia 1-0 in their first FIFA World Cup qualifier in Islamabad. Pakistan then fell 4-0 to Saudi Arabia in the second round. Pakistan will now face Jordan in an away match on March 26.
Last week, Pakistan men’s football coach Stephen Constantine acknowledged Jordan as one of Asia’s greatest teams but warned that Pakistan will not “lay down” in front of their opponents.
Stephen said they have little time to prepare for such a major game. Unfortunately, we will play one of Asia’s top teams [Jordan] on March 21st. They will fight against Jordan and not lie down.
