A man wearing Free Palestine shirt invaded World Cup final match
A man wearing a “Free Palestine” shirt invaded the final ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 match between India and Australia. He entered the stadium when India was batting in the first innings of the match.
The invader was wearing a shirt written on its front “Stop bombing Palestine” and “Free Palestine” on the back of the shirt. He was also wearing a mask with the Palestinian flag printed on it. Invader attempted to embrace India’s star batter and former captain, Virat Kohli. He appeared to hug Virat from behind.
The action of India against Pitch Invader
The Australian-Palestinian supporter, who invaded the field of play during the CWC 2023 final, was brought to the Ahmedabad Crime Branch on Nov 20. An FIR was also filed against him for invading the pitch. Ahmedabad Joint Commissioner of Police Neeraj Badgujar informed that the entire act was planned by him to get popular.

Neeraj said Wen works in a solar-fitting company. Whatever earns, he uses to go to different locations and invade fields. He has done such acts in the past too. He learned about the World Cup and how the Israel-Palestine issue is going on.
Commissioner Neeraj further said Wen thought he would be famous for highlighting the issue. He planned accordingly. He got special shoes and did this to get famous. Comments on social media on his acts please him a lot.
The pitch invader was an Australian national. His name is Wen Johnson. He interrupted the World Cup final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad India to record his protest against the ongoing Israel attack on Gaza.
Since Oct 7, 2023, Israel has bombed severely Palestinian civilians in a retaliatory response to the Hamas attack on Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). In this regard, Wen invaded the World Cup final to ask for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza.
