Twitter business destroyed after a year of Elon Musk?

The business of the social media app Twitter was destroyed after a year of Elon Musk running it? Let’s try to find out in this article today at TabloidPK.

Elon acquired Twitter on Oct 27, 2022. Elon has changed Twitter several times in this one year than any other executive in the sixteen years before. The most significant single change in a bouncy 12 months was rebranding Twitter as X. For Elon, X is a long-awaited venture that has ambitions to create an “everything app” that handles messaging, social networking, audio, video, payments, and online shopping.

Before completing the takeover of Twitter for $44 billion, Elon hinted at what was coming ahead when he mentioned the deal as an “accelerating to creating X, the everything app”.

Did Twitter X lose daily active users?

In the month of July this year, the sudden dumping of the Twitter brand surprised the tech world. Twitter was a fair platform with 238 million daily users compared to Facebook and Instagram’s combined user base. Twitter used to be dominant and a well-known platform in the social media world.

New Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino last month said that the social network X has between 200 million and 250 million users at Code Conference. However, she revealed later during her appearance that the number is 225 million. This figure would indicate a decline.

Linda went to check her phone as if to confirm the number during the conference. Later, she suggested that X has 540 million monthly active users and 225 million daily active users. That would be slightly down from the 238 million daily users Twitter had before the acquisition. Linda said the company would be profitable in early 2024.

The former head of Twitter, Bruce Daisley said the rebranding move X had damaged a business that was in “brand heaven”.

Daisley pointed out numerous flaws in the product. Despite this, the Twitter brand remained one of the world’s top-ranking companies. He mentioned that a wide range of influential figures, from Barack Obama to Kim Kardashian, The Rock, and Greta Thunberg, all used the platform to promote it. Elon Musk’s actions, however, destroyed all of that.
