Samsung to launch Wear OS 5 Beta for Galaxy Watch soon

Tech giant Samsung is reportedly to launch Wear OS 5 Beta for Galaxy smartwatches in the upcoming summer months, June and July. Wear OS is also known as “Android Wear.”

Wear OS is a version of Google’s operating system designed for smartwatches and other wearables. It is a collaboration between Samsung and Google, combining Samsung’s expertise in hardware and design with the software system of Google.

Wear OS has several uses that make tasks easier for users, including health and fitness tracking, navigation and travel, controlling smart home devices, etc. It also allows users to make payments directly from their smartwatch using Google Pay.

However, Samsung Wear launched Wear OS 4 Beta with the Galaxy Watch 6 on August 11, 2023. It had to launch in May 2023. Now, people are waiting for the Samsung Wear OS 5 Beta launch.

Several media reports Samsung may launch Wear OS 5 Beta with Galaxy Watch 7 this summer. The exact launch date is unknown, but there are reports that the official debut of Wear OS 5 may be in the next month June 2024.

Wear OS 5 is based on UI 6 Watch Beta and Android 14 operating system (OS) with improved battery efficiency. According to Google, smartwatches featuring Wear OS 5 have a 20% longer battery life when completing a marathon.

It has a Watch Face Format designed to make watch faces more efficient and dynamic. Google is releasing new rules on making UIs work on several watch screen sizes with Wear OS 5. It’s also adding adaptive layouts and components.

Moreover, it will likely have additional features, including passkey support, cloud passkey restoration, an easy login process, and many more. It may also come with a blood-sugar assessment feature.
