According to several media reports, Google introduced audio emojis to Android phones by combining phone chats with a humorous element. The company has started an “Audio Emoji” function in its Google Phone app.

This feature allows users to communicate sound effects during calls. It seeks to improve audio discussions with a playful and personalized element, allowing users to express themselves in ways other than words.

Google Phone app beta program users can now test the Audio Emoji feature. 9to5Google first reported this news. The users have access to send one of six sound effects, sad, applause, drumroll, poop, and celebrate under “android users.”

The most recent beta version of the Google phone app, version 128, now has this feature. 

How to Use Audio Emoji in Google Phone App

  • Follow the below steps to allow audio emojis in the Google Phone app:
  • Go into settings on your phone. Access the General sections and scroll down.
  • Press the audio emojis option by clicking on it. Upon enabling, the call interface will offer a hanging button for audio emojis. Then select “Try Audio Emoji” to choose from several sound effects. 
  • However, the user’s phone must be in speaker mode to function Audio Emoji properly. 
  • There is also a shot delay between audio emoji sounds to keep the chat flowing smoothly and avoid overuse.

However, it is significant to note that only beta testers can use the newly introduced Google feature “audio emojis” at the time. 

But Google has plans to allow more people to use this feature in the next few weeks. More Android users will be able to enjoy this fun feature while talking on the phone with its wide launch.  

Google has added more features to its apps following the release of audio emojis for better user experience. For example, Android users can now download and run multiple apps from the Google Play Store simultaneously.
