Pakistan government launched Sohni Dharti Remittance Program

Pakistan government launched Sohni Dharti Remittance Program to benefit foreign workers and to promote sending remittances via normal banking channels.

This program offers benefits to foreign Pakistani workers working abroad who can earn points for sending money via banking channels. Remitters will earn a certain percentage of the amount they will send to Pakistan. State Bank of Pakistan has divided the rewards into three tiers:

  • Green
  • Gold
  • Platinum

The percentage of remitter will earn are as follows:

State Bank of Pakistan facilitating foreign remitters also launched an app for the Sohni Dharti Remittance program. This app consists of a lot of features such as a virtual card, managing your account, transferring points to beneficiaries, and viewing account statements. You can also use this app to see multiple discounts or privileges of the SDRP benefits where points can be redeemed for exclusive discounts and privileges.

The SDRP app is available in English and Urdu language It tracks and updates every remittance a remitter sends home and awards remitters with reward points.

The SDRP program was first launched in the reign of Ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan which was later discontinued after he was voted out of office.
