Nawaz Sharif applies for Protective bail before his arrival
Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif applies for protective bail at Islamabad High Court (IHC) before his arrival in Pakistan on Oct 21, 2023.
The legal team of PMLN moved separate applications for protective bail of Nawaz in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia references today on Oct 18, 2023. His lawyers have requested IHC to hear the applications today.
Nawaz Sharif has asked for temporary protection from arrest because he wants to go to court on his own. He says he plans to face the cases against him. He’s requesting that the police to not arrest him so he can get to court without any problems.
According to the application, Sharif will land in the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad taking a special flight on Oct 21. His legal team of lawyers included Amjad Pervaiz and Azam Nazeer Tarar.
Special representative of Nawaz Sharif and PML-N leader Attaullah Tarar has submitted the appeals of Nawaz. As a special attorney of the former PM, he ensured the biometric verification.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) changed the apparent plan for Sharif’s landing at Islamabad International Airport. Previously, Nawaz had to land at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore. Nawaz Sharif will likely land in Islamabad because of his appearance in Islamabad High Court (IHC).
His legal team sources claimed the appeals are pending in IHC where Nawaz would surrender and file a petition for suspension of sentence.
