Lahore underworld don Tipu Truckanwala shot dead in Chuhng Lahore

Lahore underworld don Ameer Balaj Tipu, popularly known as Tipu Truckanwala, has been shot dead in Chuhng, Lahore. He died in an apparent targeted killing in the Chuhng neighborhood on Feb 18, 2024 night.

According to the police, Tipu was attending a wedding ceremony of a former DSP’s son in a Chungh residential society when an armed guy opened fire on him. He suffered extreme injuries. Three other guys also got hurt along with Tipu.

However, gunmen of Tipu opened retaliatory fire on the attacker, who died as a result of fierce gunshooting. Authorities shifted all four injured to Jinnah Hospital, where Tipu died from his wounds. According to media reports, he died from four bullet wounds to the chest.

After shifting injured people to the hospital, a large delegate of police, including senior officers, arrived to prevent potential conflicts. This was because Tipu and his family had a history of animosity dating back at least three generations.

PML-N member Attaullah Tara also rushed to the hospital after hearing the news of the injured Tipu. According to DIG (Operation) Ali Nasir Rizvi, the incident could be due to long-standing enmity.

However, DIG Ali claims to hold the rival gang responsible for the death of Tipu once they conduct an inquiry. Earlier, the father of Lahore underworld Don Tipu Truckanwala, Arif Ameer, was shot dead in the parking lot of the Allama Iqbal airport in 2010 while coming from Dubai.

Likewise, the grandfather of Tipu, Billa Truckanwala, fell victim to such hatred and animosity killing. There was news that Tipu Truckanwala had joined the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N). He was before a member of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

Tipu Truckanwala was 31 years old and considered one of the few Lahore underworld dons who had been feuding for generations.
