Kohat district attacked by terrorists killed several policemen

According to initial media reports, more than ten terrorists attacked a security checkpost near Lachi Toll Plaza in Kohat District on the Indus Highway. The terrorists attacked the Lachi Toll Plaza and security checkpoint.

This attack resulted in casualties of four people, three of whom were police officers. Heavy police and Pakistan Army groups sealed off the area and commenced a search operation to find the terrorists.

Terrorists attacked and opened fire on a police checkpost at midnight near the Lachi toll plaza on the Indus Highway in Kohat district. However, terrorists are thought to be hiding out in the neighboring mountains. Police sources stated that they would soon arrest the terrorists as part of the ongoing search.

The martyred cops are Lance head constables Amjad and Junaid, and head constable Waqar. The fourth victim was identified as Noor Muhammad, a resident of Lakki Marwat. This is the third attack in three days on K-P police officers.

Earlier this week, a roadside bomb killed at least five police officers stationed in Mamund tehsil of Bajaur district. They were on duty to protect polio vaccination workers.

Since the Taliban reclaimed power in Afghanistan in 2021, attacks in Pakistani border districts have increased dramatically. Pakistan alleges that Afghanistan is facilitating allied terrorists such as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). It allows them to strike with impunity on Pakistan.

According to figures released by the Department of Interior and Tribal Affairs KP, the areas most hit by terrorism are Peshawar, Khyber, and Bajaur. As well as Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, North Waziristan, and South Waziristan.

According to Geo based on Home and Tribal Areas statistics, a total of 1,050 incidences of terrorism occurred in KP last year. However, 419 attacks happened in organized districts and 631 terrorist attacks in merged districts.
