Indian Airlines IndiGo makes a medical emergency landing in Karachi after its rider dies during an ongoing flight. An IndiGo Airlines flight from Jeddah landed at the Jinnah Karachi International Airport at 4:15 in early morning.

The health of a female passenger worsened during the flight which forced the airplane captain to request permission from the Pakistan air traffic controller to land in Karachi.

The female passenger was given medical assistance at Jinnah Terminal Landing. However, she was unable to survive and died. The Indian plane carried the body and took off for its final destination in India at 6:15 a.m.

According to sources, the passenger’s health worsened after a heart attack on the journey from Jeddah to Hyderabad Deccan. The name of the passenger is Zohra Bi.

After receiving permission from Air Traffic Control, the plane made an emergency landing at Karachi International Airport. According to a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) spokesperson, the medical team discovered that the passenger had already died during check-up.

It is not the first time that an Indian Airline has made an emergency landing on the ground in Pakistan. Air Traffic Control (ATC) of Pakistan has allowed Indian Airlines to land in Pakistan for a humanitarian cause following the bad health of passengers.

Another Indian-bound airplane made an emergency landing at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport earlier on October 15, 2023, after an aboard passenger’s health worsened.

The CAA confirmed that Indian Airlines aircraft IX-192 landed at Jinnah International Airport at 12:19 p.m. A passenger’s health deteriorated mid-flight on a journey from Dubai to Amritsar.

After presenting the situation, the pilot of a private airline requested permission from the Air Traffic Controller (ATC). Later, the pilot was granted permission to make an emergency landing for humanitarian reasons.
