Ex-Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan’s former advisor Shahzad Akbar suffers an acid attack outside his home in the United Kingdom. He remained an advisor to Imran Khan on Interior and Accountability in the Federal Cabinet.

He served as an advisor to Imran Khan from August 2018 to July 2020. According to Mirza Shahzad Akbar, the chemical used in the attack missed his eyes but injured his body.

What did the Police say about the acid attack incident?

The police stated that they were looking into this incident. They secured the acid bottle with the fingerprints of the suspect at the crime scene. There have been no arrests yet. Police in Hertfordshire, where Akbar lives, did not respond to a request for comment.

Shahzad Akbar tweeted about the acid attack writing yesterday evening in the UK he was attacked at his home where he lives with his children. The assailant threw an acid solution on him and fled.

The police and emergency services arrived on the scene in time as the police were already aware of the threat. He thanked God saying the assailant was not fully successful. How did the acid attack incident happen?

Shahzad said the attacker was in the guise of a delivery man who was wearing a helmet and rang a doorbell. As soon as Shahzad opened the door, the disguised man threw acid at him.

Most part of the acid spilled on the floor while a small amount of acid burnt his body. Afterward, he remained in the hospital for about 11 to 12 hours.

Since escaping Pakistan at the time of ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan in 2022, he has received countless threats in the United Kingdom. Currently, Imran Khan and several PTI members are in prison.

Mr. Akbar said that his brother Mirza Murad Akbar was also kidnapped in Pakistan and then reappeared months later. He stated that the claimed acid attack was part of these threats. But he declined to identify who he believed was involved in the attack.
