In a press conference, the United States (US) Department responded to reports of a meeting of the US ambassador with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail. It stated that Washington does not take a position on individuals seeking “political office”.
Matthew Miller in a press briefing responded to a question regarding a meeting between Donald Blome and Imran Khan. He said I would recommend you to the US embassy to remark on any meetings the ambassador has had. Matthew is an official US Department spokesperson.

As Pakistan prepares for elections, US Ambassador Donald Blome recently met with major political figures in Punjab on November 18, 2023. Among them are Nawaz Sharif (PML-N), Syed Yusaf Raza Gilani (PPP), and Jahangir Khan Tareen (IPP).

There were speculations that Donald Blome has also met with the imprisoned former Prime Minister of Pakistan. Donald discussed the importance of free and fair elections with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail. Elections in Pakistan will held on February 8, 2024.
While US government official Matthew has successfully avoided confirming or denying the alleged meeting in a diplomatic way around recent speculations.
Matthew just avoided questions regarding the alleged meeting. He suggested to media reporters that they should be directed to the US embassy about it.
