CSS 2023 results announced, passing ratio stands at 2.96%

The Federal Public Services Commission (FPSC) has announced the results for CSS (Central Superior Services) for 2023. The commission reports that the passing percentage for the CSS examinations is 2.96%.

According to FPSC, 401 out of the 13,008 candidates who took the written exam passed it. However, 210 out of 401 candidates cleared the interview phase and whom FPSC suggested for appointment.

126 of the successful candidates were men, while 84 were women. Adil Riaz took first position in the CSS exam 2023 followed by Shehrbano in second place and Okasha Abrar in third.

FPSC announced they will eventually post a complete mark sheet of each candidate on their website. The commission further stated that the chosen applicants would be appointed Grade-17 officers.

However, the recent CSS 2023 results announced by FPSC show better performance of CSS aspirants from last year’s results. The passing ratio of CSS 2022 results stands at 1.85% only. 

According to FPSC, 20, 262 candidates took the written exam of CSS 2022, and 393 candidates passed the written examination. However, the candidates performed better in the interview phase, compared to recent results, as 374 out of 393 candidates cleared it.

The results of the CSS 2021 year show us a passing ratio of 2.11%, with 364 successful candidates and 16,876 unsuccessful candidates. FPSC results for CSS 2020 show a passed percentage of 2.56% with 138 female and 226 male candidates. 

CSS examination aims to choose the most intelligent, well-behaved, and competent candidates from four provinces of Pakistan for twelve federal government agencies. However, bureaucrats is the term used to describe CSS officers. 

Those who pass this exam can get a BPS-17 post. FPSC appoints them as designated government officers. CSS manages government secretaries, cabinet officers, and the civil bureaucratic processes in Pakistan. Hence, CSS is a permanent bureaucratic elite institution.
