Robbers hijacked van, stole cash and other valuables from 18 passengers
Three suspected robbers sitting in the same van hijacked it and stole 18 passengers while it was traveling from Hyderabad to Karachi near New Sabzi Mandi. They took away cash, cell phones, and other valuables from the passengers.
This incident happened on Super Highway near the Site Superhighway Industrial Area police station. Zulfiqar Bhangwar is the SHO of the Site-Superhighway Industrial Area.
According to him, three suspects held the driver and van conductor at gunpoint when the van arrived at New Sabzi Mandi. They drove the van to a Sohrab Goth slum and also stole goods from the passengers there.
They left the van in Machar Colony and fled with looted items. Zulfiqar Bhangwar revealed that police filed an FIR against three suspect robbers who hijacked and looted a van.
Hence, police registered an FIR in response to a complaint of a government employee named Rashid Ali. Rashid stated in the complaint that he was traveling in a van carrying eighteen passengers back to Karachi from Hyderabad. He lost his cell phone and PKR 10,000.
Two suspects who sat next to the driver’s seat pulled out firearms when the van got close to New Sabzi Mandi. One of them pulled the driver, Mohammad Asif, out of his seat and started driving the van.

Meanwhile, the third robber loaded a pistol and began robbing the passenger of cash, cell phones, and other valuables. According to the complaint, two suspects were young, and one was older. They wore shalwar-qameez.
In a separate incident, robbers fired and injured two bystanders in Shah Latif Town on May 3, 2024 night. One young boy, Dastagir, and 33-year-old Ahmed Ali sustained critical injuries.
SHO Malik Saleem said robbers stole PKR 120,000 in cash from two technicians. They were on a motorbike and did aerial shooting in an attempt to escape. Ahmed and Dastagir were injured during the shooting. However, they were sitting at the hairdresser’s shop when the shooting happened.
