CM Gandapur ordered arrest of armed men pretending to be govt officials
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur ordered the arrest of armed men who are pretending to be govt officials. He gave police orders to start taking action and arrest any armed individuals who were wandering and interfering in both personal and official matters.
He stated he gave the police orders to arrest any armed men they came across immediately. Police should firmly deal with such elements. He explained the reason behind his orders.
CM Gandapur stated he had made it clear in the Apex Committee meeting shortly after taking office. Specific armed men had been seen wandering around while pretending public servants and establishing connections with government agencies.
According to him, impersonated armed individuals intervened in governmental and non-governmental matters. Hence, he had expressed significant concerns about this to the provincial government, police, and the public in general at the Apex Committee.
The chief minister stated he had brought this serious issue up during the meeting over the National Action Plan. Following this, CM Gandapur ordered the arrest of armed men.
Regarding the recent violence in the Bannu, he expressed gratitude to the leaders of his party, PTI, and other party members for meeting with the administration to resolve the matter peacefully.
CM Gandapur revealed elders (local community leaders of Bannu district) have established a committee. This committee will meet him at the Bannu incident today.

The Bannu incident happened on July 19, 2024, when local people protested for peace in the region against terrorism. Senior leader of Jamat-e-Islami, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan sponsored this protest movement.
However, this peaceful protest turned violent when a mob allegedly marched towards a military cantonment and set fire to its tents. Afterward, Military forces reportedly fired gunshots in retaliation which resulted in the death of one and dozens injured.
It sparked outrage among the public. Many protestors and the public blamed the military for turning peaceful protests into violent events. On the other hand, the KPK government believes that fatal shots were the result of a fight between two rival groups.
