A disturbing video came out in which a man sexually abused a burqa-wearing woman on a street in Pak Colony, Karachi. The unknown man approached a veiled (burqa-wearing) woman as she walked down the street.

The attacker grabbed the woman from behind and made an inappropriate move by groping her body. However, the attacker was forced to leave the scene as the courageous woman began to scream for help.

The CCTV footage recorded this incident which clearly showed the face of the attacker which also helped police in arresting and locking up the culprit. According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Asad Reza, they have arrested the attacker.

DIG Asad Reza verified the suspect acknowledged having inappropriately touched and sexually abused a burqa-wearing woman during interrogation. Police have also filed a complaint against him and started legal proceedings based on his confession. They have kept the identity of the suspect hidden.

However, the victim woman did not contact the police to report this incident. Police initiated legal action upon the emergence of CCTV footage. Since hardly every area of the city has CCTV installed or running, this is one of the few incidents, that was captured.
