Accountability Court canceled arrest warrants of Hassan & Hussain Nawaz
The Accountability Court of Islamabad canceled the permanent arrest warrants for Hassan and Hussain Nawaz. Both are sons of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The accountability court of Islamabad heard Hassan and Hussain Nawaz’s pleas to dismiss their arrest warrants, hence the court canceled them permanently.
Earlier, the accountability court issued their arrest warrants in the Flagship, Al-Azizia, and Avenfield cases under the tenure of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. In the alleged cases, fugitives Hassan and Hussain Nawaz appeared in the accountability court and surrendered to Judge Nasir Javed Rana.
During the initial hearing, the assistant lawyer informed the court that Hassan and Hussain Nawaz’s lawyer, Qazi Misbah, was busy in another court and would return by noon.
Judge Nasir stated that Hassan and Hussain had received relief until today. He stated both of them (Hassan and Hussain) must surrender before the court today.
The Accountability Court in Islamabad resumed hearings after the holiday. Meanwhile, Hassan and Hussain appeared in court beside their lawyer, Qazi Misbah.
During the hearing, Qazi Misbah stated a request was made to suspend the permanent warrant at the previous hearing. Afterward, Judge Nasir questioned about the cases against them.

Lawyer Qazi replied there were three references against the accused and they have filed petitions in all three cases. He said the Islamabad High Court and trial court acquitted Nawaz Sharif in Al-Azizia and Flagship cases respectively. Maryam Nawaz, and Captain (R) Safdar have also been acquitted in the Avenfield case.
Following that, the accountability court dismissed the arrest warrants of Hassan and Hussain Nawaz. It granted them bail when they submitted a 50,000 rupees surety bond.
Hassan and Hussain also applied for an exemption from attending the next court session. The court has postponed the hearing till tomorrow. The court also terminated the declared criminal status of the suspects.
